Our Ethos

ethos: /ˈēˌTHäs/ noun
meaning the characteristic spirit of a culture, or community as manifested in its beliefs and aspirations

Our mission is two-fold:
first, to empower students to achieve their musical aspirations; and
second, to provide musicians and teachers with a means of earning a livelihood while pursuing their passion.

The Resonance Difference

At Resonance School of Music, we foster a community that values education through experience. Our unique approach to music education includes private lessons and real-world experience, preparing students to achieve their musical goals.

We prioritize cooperative learning and invite healthy competition among our students. Our dedication to music education, personal attention, and family values provides the right tools and encouragement for students to pursue their passions.

We believe that learning music is understanding the world around us, and that with the right tools and encouragement anything is possible.

“Music gives soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination, and charm and gaiety to life and to everything.”

– Plato

History is very important to us at Resonance School of Music. We believe you should never forget where you came from in your musical journey.

Resonance School of Music began in 2011 in Glassboro, New Jersey. It started as a small school for piano and voice in a tiny practice room with one piano.  More teachers joined, allowing expansion to other instruments of study. This growth eventually led Resonance to its current home in Sewell, New Jersey.

With the addition of its Conservatory Programs in 2013, Resonance’s journey continues to become not just a place for instrumental study, but a place to receive a deeper knowledge of music.  The year’s following saw the arrival of several new programs including Music for Little Mozarts and Jam Band.

Finally, with the addition of Resonance Recording it’s has become a central location for anything music education related.  With every step, Resonance always makes sure that the success of this school leads directly to the success of its students. We strive to provide quality musical education methods, the best instruments, and the best teachers that we can possibly find. Through these various endeavors, we are proud of this school, the musical community it promotes, and above all else the successes of our students.
