Private Lessons
Private Lesson Curriculum
All our private lesson programs at Resonance School of Music are taught by teachers that are conservatory trained professionals. Our teachers are not only active in their disciplines, but are continuing to elevate their own education. Resonance School of Music provides our instructors with avenues to continue refining their skills and access to the best possible equipment and resources to train our students.
Pedagogy Syllabi
Private music lessons are taught to the standards of the Royal Conservatory of Music. Students are evaluated on levels 1 to 10 in the areas of Technique, Music Theory, and Repertoire. Our teacher’s use this resource to design personal curriculum’s for each individual student in our programs. Copies of these syllabi are available to our students at all of our studio location for reference.
Student Levels
Student levels are given to each of our students at the beginning of their musical journey. This helps our teachers to evaluate students before we start. This is usually first done during the trial lessons. Once you start, levels are reconfigured for each student after each recital. Our teachers average the level scores in each area to assign an overall score for musicianship. For example; if a student has a repertoire score of 5, a technique score of 7, and a music theory score of 6. Our studio will assign that student an overall score of 6. In order to up that score, the lowest score would need to be brought up first.
